In this shoot there were a few things which drew me in. I loved the idea of just coming out of surgery and recovering in a 5 star hotel, it creates humour with a serious issue. There are a few images showing patients being operated on yet beautified at the same time. However this does give the idea of the trend of body image issues which in my opinion is very cliched. Image number 12 ad 13 are both very confronting and raw, I really like the idea of that !!! The beauty shot in image 11 is a close up of what has been changed after surgery, it shows progression which I think is very interesting for the viewer. In the last shot, the women is leaving surgery and doing her daily chores, as if it is so normal and part of ehr daily routine, it adds humour.
Overall, I think these shoots are very successful and has inspired me in terms of how I want my shoot to be presented as. Which is - confronting, honest, and raw. However this cultural trend is not something Im going to pursue because it blurs the boundary of moving into body image. Which I think is very cliched and amateur. Im going to research the 'mentally sick' trend from my initial brainstorm and see were that takes me !
